    MACONOCHIE, Rev. James 'Jim' Johnstone

    Rev. Jim Maconochie went to be with his Lord and Saviour on August 31, 2017 at the age of 97.

    Jim was born in 1920 to Bob and Annie Maconochie on a homestead in Beaver Flats, east of Rocky Mountain House, AB.

    On July 22, 1953, Jim married Jean Burgess. They spent their lives serving in numerous churches throughout Alberta. Jim served on numerous boards and as a school trustee for several years. He was very instrumental in the construction and development of James River Bible Camp. Jim and Jean retired in 1985 and moved to Calgary. In May 1992 Jean passed away. In August 1993, Jim married Ruth Eby.

     Jim is survived by his loving wife Ruth, daughter Beverley (Don) Montgomery, sons James (Valerie) and Berwyn (Kathy), grandchildren Kathy (Mike) Chu, Carlene (Mike) Wagner, Logan and Emma Leigh, Scott, Randy and Katy, and great grandchildren, Derek, Carter and Zane Wagner. Jim is also survived by his sister-in-law, Doris, his brother-in-law George Burgess, sister-in-law Hazel Gommeringer and Marion Archer. Jim predeceased by his parents Bob and Annie, his first wife Jean, infant son Robert and brother Ewart.

    A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 2:00pm at Zion Evangelical Missionary Church in Didsbury, AB.
