Gen and Andrew Epp, Family Ministry Pastors at Plattsville EMC, had often wondered what it would be like to run a kids day camp. That curiosity became a real possibility a year ago when Andrew applied for, and received grants to hire 12 summer students. Their concern to keep the students meaningfully occupied was secondary to their interest in advancing the Kingdom of God in their community. Before asking "What can we do?" they asked "What are the needs here?" An afforable day camp that would run over several weeks seemed like a good fit. Government subsidy and camp registration fees put the project within reach financially. In this interview highlights video, Gen Epp describes why they embarked on this project and what impact it had.
