Over 1500 people gathered at Braeside Camp in Paris for the 41st Pitch & Praise. With respect to weather and ministry, this one will be hard to beat. Guest speakers, Shane Claiborne and Jo Saxton sparked very significant small group conversations which led to many students beginning to follow Jesus. Worship times led by Jon Bryant & Band as well as DJ Andy Hunter were electrifying.Another highlight of the weekend was the fundraising that was accomplished for the relief efforts in Nepal following the recent earthquake. We set a goal to raise $5,000 through an offering that was taken on Sunday. A donor from one of our churches offered to match the offering that was taken. Money continued to trickle in until the last camper was gone. In the end, campers gave $6,557.00 With the matching donation and the commitment of the Government of Canada, that $6,557.00 will be multiplied to 26,200.00.The money will be used for the reconstruction of an orphanage run by our sister denomination in Nepal, under the leadership of Pastor Tej Rokka. The video below describes the sacrificial giving of students at Pitch & Praise. If you would like to contribute to reconstruction efforts, we would invite you to donate online here. Donations made by May 25th will be matched dollar for dollar by the government of Canada.
