    SWAM, Rev. Willard

    Willard Swalm, beloved husband of Eunice Swalm passed away peacefully in Didsbury, Alberta on Monday, January 26th, 2015 at the age of 88 years.  The celebration of his life is being held on Saturday, January 31st, at 2 p.m. at the Zion Evangelical Missionary Church in Didsbury. 
    He is survived by Eunice, his loving wife of 63 years, his son Murray (Lorrie) of Calgary, his 2 daughters, Nyla (Howard) and Carol (Ken) of Didsbury, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was predeceased by his infant daughter Cynthia Pearl, his brother Elvern and sisters Lila, Lucille and Helen.
    A retired EMCC pastor from Alberta, Willard began his pastoral ministry in 1951 and served pastorates in Bergen and Edmonton, and was the founding pastor of Oriole Park MC, now CrossRoads, in Red Deer. Willard also served as District Superintendent of the Canada West District for ten years. He retired from his last pastorate in Didsbury in 1991.
    Willard was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, pastor and friend who led by example.  He will be remembered for his life of faith and will be deeply missed by his family and the many people he mentored and befriended over the years.
