Haiti Update: Hope in the Midst of Sorrow
The apostle Paul echoed the teaching of Jesus when he said, ‘We do not sorrow as those who have no hope.’ The many followers of Jesus amongst the Haitian people are living this truth out in the midst of great testing. General Assembly Inspires EMCC to Engage our World Transformationally

"Every believer a missionary!" Bob Roberts Jr. proclaimed. "It makes everyone significant - raises the value of everybody." This was the thrust for the EMCC General Assembly held May 4-6, 2009 in Toronto, inspiring us to engage our world transformationally. It is not militant, but Holy Spirit-led engagement. "When we engage the world transformationally, we also let the world engage us", added Pernell Goodyear from the Freeway Church in Hamilton, Ontario, who presented insights from Luke 10:1-12.

I teach a first-year B.A. course called “Language Use and Bible Translation”. Remembering a church history course I took which always began with the singing of a hymn, I decided that we would start our weekly class by singing a well-known chorus, either in English, the language of instruction, or in Hausa, the regional language.

EMCWomen Newsletter - April 2008
Join EMCWomen’s Haiti Mission Team 2008. One of the mandates of EMCWomen is to equip women for God’s ministry. We are now gathering our team to travel to Haiti for our final Teacher Training Module. We have seen about 45 women complete the two modules, with a total of about 100 women able to attend at least one module. We will complete the course next fall. We are providing systematic teaching of God’s Word along with teacher training skills and resources. read more »
