    Church and Community Profile

Huron Chapel is located in a small town called Auburn in Huron County.  Auburn is mostly residential with a post office, gas station and ball diamond.  The majority of people in Auburn work in other towns or in the local rural community.  If you would like to know more about Huron County you can see information here.

The majority of the congregation of Huron Chapel is located in the surrounding area around Auburn, whether they are part of the farming community or located in one of the surrounding towns (Goderich, Blyth, Clinton, etc.) and travel up to 40 minutes to church.

The congregation is a mix of people from a number of different denominational backgrounds: (CRC, Baptist, United, Mennonite and Pentecostal and others) who have come together with a common love for Jesus, His Word, and His Mission.  It is amazing to experience how God is growing us both individually and as a body as we seek to live out the Great Commission, according to God’s Word, empowered by the Holy Spirit.  Huron Chapel’s mission statement is “Loving Jesus, Serving Others, Together”.

The kids and youth from Auburn attend schools in other towns in the surrounding area (Goderich, Clinton, Wingham).  We have an average of 30 students that come to youth group on Fridays.   The group is made up of youth from Huron Chapel, as well as other churches in the area.  We meet on Friday nights whether at the church or outside the church for special events.  We are blessed to have a gym as part of our church building, as well as a 7 acre property with a soccer field and a fire pit for outside activities.

There is also a young adults group that meets every other week for a Bible study.  Many of the young adults in this area are entering into agricultural work, trades or apprenticeships and so they have remained in the area after High School.

Some of the other exciting ministries at Huron Chapel include a summer VBC that draws over 100 kids including many from the community.  Huron Chapel also has a number of small groups and Bible studies throughout the week.  Missions is also very important to Huron Chapel and we support a number of missionaries within Canada and abroad.
