Who We Are

Evangelical Missionary Church President, John Cressman

A message from President John Cressman.

Our denomination is Father-defined—that is, we find our identity as His children and servants. We are Christ-centred as we follow and orient our lives around the way, words and works of Jesus. We are Holy Spirit dependent. His voice guides us.

I would like to invite you on a journey with us to bless the world and invite others to follow Jesus. We see ourselves as a family and part of a movement to multiply disciples, leaders and churches in Jesus name.

EMCC 2033 Vision Update

It may seem unusual for an outgoing President to present a vision for the future, but I am hopeful to contribute meaningfully to EMCC in the days ahead. I am simply being obedient to share what the Lord has been whispering to me. I present this vision not as my own, but as a leader listening to the Spirit, His team, and the membership. Naturally, the specifics and strategic plans will be entrusted to others to steward. I have shared this with the National Board and National Team members, and I have received affirmation and excitement. I offer it to you for prayer, consideration and input.

At General Assembly 2033, EMCC will celebrate its 40th birthday as a merged denomination (Evangelical & Missionary Churches). We prayerfully and boldly invite all EMCC member churches and credential holders to press in and pursue the following goals:

In 7 years (2033):

7000 baptisms.

7 new disciple-making churches in 7 strategic locations across Canada.

7 new churches from 7 EMCC churches (daughtering) or groups of EMCC churches collaborating.

7 revitalized churches.

7 churches with an intentional plan to raise up new leaders for the future church.

70 new leaders/global workers/Next-Gen raised up and mobilized through our collective efforts.

7 new WP-supervised global workers mobilized in strategic global access locations.

Please pray into this vision with us, and let us see what God can do.
