John Estabrooks
Regional Minister (Part-Time)
John serves as a part-time Regional Minister with the EMCC in the Western Region while continuing in his role as Lead Pastor of Bonavista Church in Calgary, Alberta.
John has served in ministry for nearly 30 years in a variety of church settings and leadership roles across Western Canada. Before coming to Bonavista, he spent time serving a number of churches navigating seasons of transition and renewal. He values the opportunity to support pastors, leaders, and congregations through both difficult and hopeful moments in ministry life.
As a third-generation pastor and the dad of a young pastor, John carries a deep appreciation for both the joy and weight of pastoral ministry. He deeply values the ministry of presence and considers it a privilege to walk alongside people and churches through celebration, challenge, grief, and renewal. He remains grateful for the ways God continues to meet people and bring new life, even in difficult circumstances.
John and his wife Jennifer live in Calgary, Alberta. They have two adult children and are joyfully anticipating their first grandchild. Outside of ministry, John enjoys racquet sports, compelling stories, good coffee, and spending time with family and friends. He continues to believe the Vancouver Canucks will one day win the Stanley Cup.
