Multiplication Initiative

Growing the church by seeing churches, leaders and disciples multiply and reproduce through their pursuit of Christ.

We desire to see God multiply what he is building.

God blessed them & said, “Be fruitful and multiply.” A command repeated to Adam & Eve, Noah, Abraham, Jacob and now the Church. “Some seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop – a hundred, sixty and thirty times what was sown.” The Parable of Sower provides us with promise as we plant the gospel we will see a multiplied harvest. Multiplication should be at the forefront of the church’s thoughts, design and activity.

  • Disciples multiplying disciples.

  • Leaders multiplying leaders.

  • Churches multiplying churches.

This will require a transformative mindset shift from a focus on adding to the attendance of our gatherings to equipping, empowering and releasing the multipliers among us.

Strengthening Our Multiplication Reflex

Why do people lose reflexes? There are many contributing factors: a combination of age-related changes in the brain cause slowed signals from the brain to the body. Limited movement, injury and disease can limit flexibility. The same is true in the Body of Christ. Some factors have led to EMCC’s loss of our multiplication reflex.

Now, in 2025, it’s time for us to work our multiplication muscles again. In the past, our pastors and churches prayed, dreamed, and collaborated to start new churches. Many of our churches were birthed from our multiplication reflex. Our model of starting a service and attracting people has shifted to multiplying disciples, investing in leaders and forming disciple-making groups, communities, and churches. Over the past decade, we can count the number of new churches on one hand. We have grown wonderfully, from adding to the attendance of our gatherings to equipping, empowering and releasing the multipliers among us.

The drivers of multiplication are ordinary people.

Multiplication Minded

A few years from now we will see the path we took that strengthened our reflex toward multiplication. We will be able to count:

  • More disciples as disciples who multiply disciples,

  • More leaders, as leaders who multiply leaders,

  • And more dreams, plans and beginnings of new churches.

As scripture leads us in our understanding that a mindset shifts doesn’t happen through information; it happens through transformation. (Romans 12:2)

We are investing in projects and leadership that seek to multiply and stimulate a renewed culture of multiplication by:

  • Learning about multiplication training from multiplication organizations and our global partners

  • Exploring ways to huddle and resource by learning from current member churches and their success stories.

  • Developing strategies around leader multiplication by working with leaders who are seeing the Lord’s success through projects and initiatives.
