Learn to Have
Resonant Conversations

Resonant Conversations is a hands-on learning experience that will prepare you to have engaging, enriching and relationship building conversations, even when others in the conversation may not share your point of view. We want to help you have conversations that resonate – creating harmony and ever-increasing understanding and respect for one another.

Why Now?

Within the EMCC family, members and leaders hold diverse opinions on numerous issues ranging from the nature of scripture to criteria for service and leadership. In some instances, our differences have created division within congregations and within the EMCC family at large.

Our political climate is moving more and more toward taking sides, digging in and hurling insults rather than listening to one another for greater understanding. This way of relating is seeping into our daily lives at every level.

Differences will always exist within families, churches, denominations and other organizational structures. Differences often result in division of relationships, but we believe that our differences can actually make us stronger. Now more than ever, the world needs a witness to this possibility.

Imagine…

Imagine becoming a beacon to the world of a family that journeys together, strengthened by our differences. A family where:

  • Young and old can disagree without being disagreeable.

  • There is unity in essentials, liberty in non-essentials, grace toward others in all things.

  • Non-essentials do not become barriers to the mission that God wants to accomplish in us and through us.

  • Understanding others comes before correcting others.

Resonant Conversations seeks to develop this kind of a family.

What to Expect From a Resonant Conversations Learning Cohort

Imagine becoming a beacon to the world of a family that journeys together, strengthened by our differences. A family where:

  • Twelve hours of interactive learning with a small group of 8-12 people

  • A growing appreciation for the importance of posture, emotional intelligence and self-leadership for better conversations

  • The development of your listening skills

  • Strategies for better conversations

  • A stronger network of friendships

In most cases, learning cohorts are conducted on-line over a period of 6-8 weeks.
