Speakers
Dr. Patrick Franklin (Ph.D., McMaster Divinity College) is a theologian, ethicist, pastor, church planter, and bridge builder. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Theology at Tyndale Seminary, as president of the Canadian-American Theological Association, as past President of the Canadian Scientific and Christian Affiliation, and as a Fellow of the American Scientific Affiliation. He is passionate about the church, especially historical and contemporary expressions of the church that pursue depth in relationship, community, discipleship, and holistic mission. He is the author of Being Human, Being Church: The Significance of Theological Anthropology for Ecclesiology and many book chapters and articles. Elena Taliotis Franklin, BA M.Div. Elena loves Jesus, the Church and people. She has served leaders for over two decades providing spiritual direction, coaching/consulting, seminar & retreat leading, and serving within local church leadership structures. With a background in counselling therapy, Elena is a kind observer of people and is keenly aware of the importance of relationships for whole-person and team flourishing. She has served as pastor and church planter and teaches Christian spirituality at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A lover of learning, Elena’s interests are broad and range from science and art, to literature and theology. She loves being a mom to three dynamic and fun children, and wife to her theologian-husband who is currently discovering a love of mountain biking. Elena loves stories, and is most at home in quiet spaces, with family and friends - ideally in or near nature.
