see descriptions below
There is a lot of information out there that is often confusing on the matters of sexuality. Our culture seems to give heroism to those who embrace and celebrate sexuality that is opposed to scripture. The cultural narrative is loud and clear. Christianity has in general been silent on the issues of sexuality, gender and relationships. Fear has in many cases caused "us" to be afraid of how to say what is truth without being villainized and misunderstood. Another growing response within Christianity has been to embrace cultural understandings of sexuality and gender while letting go of traditional and historical teachings of sexuality and gender.
Biblical Sexuality vs Cultural Norms and Narratives (Room 205, Tues. 10:30 AM) Here we explore God's created intention for humanity and what it is that Jesus is restoring humanity to. This session will also include personal testimony of those on the journey of restoration.
Pastoral approaches to the LGBTQ Community (Room 205, Tues. 1.00 pm) Here we will explore how to be pastoral with truth and grace, creating a community that is genuinely welcoming with those with a differing understanding of sexuality and gender.
