    Haller, Dwight Herman

    January 15, 2020
Dwight Herman Haller met Jesus and entered the joy of his eternal home of heaven on January 6. 2020 at the age of 74. He was born on December 20, 1945 to Alex and Emma Haller and was raised in Trochu, Alberta.

Dwight attended Berean Bible College after high school grad from Trochu Valley School. He continued to follow the Lord’s leading on his life by attending Fort Wayne Bible College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He met Linda here and they married August 8, 1970. They followed God’s call on their lives and especially filled their home with music and sang together for years. Dwight completed his education at North American Baptist College in Edmonton, Alberta. He took further studies with the Billy Graham Association at The Cove in North Carolina.

Before pastoring full-time, Dwight was the Camp Director of Camp Caroline where he was involved with the programming and the building of the main lodge. He served at Brentview Baptist, McKernan Baptist and Grace Baptist in Alberta as the Christian Education Director through the North American Baptist Conference. In complete faith, Dwight and Linda took their children Doug and Debbie to Michigan to be close to Linda’s family in Detroit. It was there they pastored at First Baptist Church in the town of Capac, MI and the place that most became home for their family. Through Debbie’s high school years, Dwight pastored at Ridgeview Evangelical Missionary Church in Kelowna, BC. Along with pastoral duties, Dwight directed the stewardship program at Centre Street Church in Calgary and was editor of the “The Echoes,” the official newsletter of the Evangelical Church, Canada West District.

Dwight was a visionary and was rarely found without pen and paper in hand and was creatively gifted at programming and outreach in the community. He had a pastor’s heart to love all and impacted many lives no matter where he went. His true passion was time with his family, especially his grandkids who he was so proud of and adored.

Dwight is lovingly remembered by his wife Linda of 49 years, son Doug and Cynthia (Liam) Haller, daughter Debbie and John (Brenden, Analea) Miller, brother Mirrel (June) Haller, sister Marlene (Orville) Frederick.

He was predeceased by his parents Alex and Emma Haller and his brother Gerald (Carol) Haller.
The family would like to especially thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Didsbury Hopsital Acute Care Unit for their compassionate care over Dwight.

A Celebration Service for Dwight will be held Friday, January 17, 2020 at 1:00pm at Zion EM Church in Didsbury, AB.

Memorial donations can be made to Rosebud Health Foundation, Box 962, Didsbury AB, T0M 0W0 or memorial contributions may be made to Linda Haller #1002 - 140 Sagewood Blvd SW, Airdrie AB, T4B 3H5.

Your prayers are appreciated for the family during this time of loss.
