  • Listowel Evangelical Missionary Church in Listowel, ON is seeking a Youth Ministry Coordinator

    30 hours a week helping our youth and their leaders live vibrant lives as followers of Jesus, through effective leadership and discipling relationships. The coordinator will report to our Co-Lead Pastoral Team and thrive in our healthy and growing team environment.

    Role Requirements:

    • A growing, passionate relationship with Jesus, and dependence on the Holy Spirit 
    • A worthy example of disciple-making, missional life, and leadership
    • Alignment with EMCC Faith and Practice, the mission and vision of LEMC, and agreement with LEMC Bylaws
    • Expected to become a member of LEMC, and has been baptized as a believer
    • Skills in relational disciple-making, team leadership, and group leadership 
    • Skills in connecting with and caring for youth and adults
    • Reports to Pastor Carter

    Proposed weekly responsibilities (average 30hrs/week):

    • 2-4 hr – prayer and visioning
    • 6-8 hr – prep for youth night/events
    • 2-5 hr – lead and facilitate youth night/events
    • 2-4 hr – in-person connection or discipling with a youth / leader / huddle
    • 1-2 hr – support youth leader team – prayer, encouragement, meeting, recruitment
    • 1 hr – communication with leaders, youth and parents (email, slack, social media) 
    • 3 hr – weekly coaching, staff meeting (Wednesdays at 1pm), and admin
    • 1-3 hr – Partnering with YFC

    The Youth Ministry Coordinator is expected to but not limited to:

    • Develop Jr and Sr Youth ministry vision (Up, In and Out), and discipling/development
    • strategy for leaders and youth, in collaboration with Pastor Carter
    • Oversee and facilitate lesson plans for Jr and Sr Youth
    • Facilitate youth events, by leading and empowering other leaders
    • Intentionally invest in a few leaders and youth, to develop their faith and leadership
    • Support and develop Youth Leader teams
    • Inform youth and parents about events, and care for and resource them
    • Clarify weekly job rhythm with other staff
    • Participate in LEMC staff meetings, and scheduled coaching with Pastor Carter
    • Participate in Core/Council/Staff meetings when scheduled (2-3 per year)
    • Effectively manage expenses within the Youth Ministry Budget
    • Ensure all RISK policies are implemented and carefully being followed
    • Regularly attend LEMC Sunday services
