Kenaston Evangelical Missionary Church, also called “Church on the Hill”, is looking for a Pastor. Someone to lead us through the next phase of our church.
Kenaston, Saskatchewan is located on #11 hwy just 45 minutes south of Saskatoon at the junction of #15 hwy. We are a farming community with the town having approximately 300 people. We have a K-12 school, the Provincial run distance learning school, Coop store, 2 gas bars, post office, café, meat shop, hotel, library, skating rink, summer run closed-in swimming pool, a daycare and a fabulous town hall.
There are 3 churches in town: ours, plus a Catholic Church and an Anglican Church. A very good plumbing & heating business and electrical businesses are also available, if that need arises.
Our church is small with mostly an older congregation. Our attendance now is an average of approximately 20 people. We have been in Kenaston since 1909. The church was remodelled a few years ago and has been well maintained. We also have a parsonage available for use. We have Sunday School and a weekly bible study.
We are looking for a pastor, either full time or part time, soon to be retired, family person or a young person. If he wishes to have a part time job that can be arranged. We were without a pastor for 3 years. Then, were fortunate to have a pastor for just over one year. But he then chose to retire in October of 2024. Therefore, we have had no pastor since then, but do use weekly pulpit supply. The candidate must lead us dealing with decline in attendance, have relevant preaching and communicating the word of God. It is important for this person to mix in the community as well with church members. If married, we encourage the wife to do the same.
