President's Tour to the Land of the Bible
Mon Apr 30, 2012
‘Pastor Phil, will you lead a trip to Israel? We would like to go with you.’ I’ve been asked this on a number of occasions and now it seems providential to agree to this request. To walk where Jesus walked. To see the place where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount. To launch out on the waters of the Sea of Galilee. To visit the Jordan where Jesus was baptized by John. To walk up the very steps that led to the house of Caiaphas. To stop and pray in the Garden of Gethsemane. To have communion at the Gordon’s Calvary. To walk under the middle eastern sun and breathe the air of the land of the Bible. For many Christians such a trip is a significant milestone on their lifelong pilgrimage with Jesus. To visit the historic sites has a remarkable way of anchoring the sacred text of Scripture. This is where it happened. This is the place where God became man and walked amongst us.
I’m inviting you to tour the land of the Bible with me, November 30 – December 8, 2012. Because we know that the financial cost can be a deterrent, we have worked hard to keep the costs down while providing a quality tour. We have also arranged for a limited number of bursaries (15) of $300 for credentialed EMCC ministers who have never been to Israel before. We don’t know if we will be able to do it again, but in the providence of God, we are doing so on this trip. We would be thrilled to have you join us and trust that the Lord will be pleased to make it ‘the trip of a lifetime.’
