The Centre for Student Leadership was born out of a dream to raise up godly young leaders rooted in Christ who would lead out of strength of character in their churches, families, social circles, places of employment, etc. It began as a joint venture between the EMCC and the BIC, training and sending out YouthBuilder teams in the year 2000, which would serve both denominations. Several other joint leadership training initiatives would follow. In 2002, the CSL was given permanent access to a facility in Clarksburg, Ontario, that would serve both as a training base and a retreat centre. The CSL attained charitable status in 2004 and was federally incorporated in 2008. It has developed a strong specialty in team centred leadership training.
The Clarksburg Retreat has become a favourite spot to many of our churches for retreats, leadership team meetings, etc. There is also a charming little solitude cabin on-site, perfect for a one or two day get-away for personal rest and renewal.
Visit the CSL site for a full description of the facilities and services.
